Hyderabad floods: Dy CM urges relief works

Hyderabad: Deputy Chief Minister Mohammed Mahmood Ali has directed officials of Municipality, Electricity and Water Board to take emergency measures to prevent people from the danger of torrential rains continued in the city. He directed to focus on low lying areas of old city and clearance of nalas to ensure easy flow of water so that water doesn’t enter the houses. He instructed the departments to set off its staff as soon as the public complaint is received to minimise losses. He directed to immediately clear the silt and sand gathered due to rain water flow.

Meanwhile in the wake of further rain forecast, leaves of higher officials of various departments have been cancelled.

Deputy Chief Minister directed all departments to be active day and night for public service and identify dilapidated houses in the city and ask the inmates to vacate such houses to prevent loss of lives.
