A first of its kind new Journalist Colony with all the facilities in about 700 sq ft 800 sq ft area will be constructed in Hyderabad in one year Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao announced here today. He told a media conference that he will lay a foundation stone for it at the earliest after a common committee of journalists comes to him to take a final call. When a scribe asked whether the government will give 560 sq ft land or construct flats, KCR said that all are equal to him and will construct a new journalist colony in a sprawling campus by pooling land. We will construct nine or more floors and each one flat will be built in about 700 sq ft to 800 sq ft with more space in kitchen and two bedrooms and the best amenities. The CM asked the unions to set aside their differences and come up with a unique and single plan to provide accommodation to all the scribes including reporters, desk, photo journalists, video journalists and others. We consider all are equal and they should get accommodation he reiterated. I already informed the scribes in Warangal of getting them a journalist colony that the Hyderabadi scribes should get envy he said. And now I feel it the journalist colony in Hyderabad will be one of its kind at national level KCR said. He also said to provide the best shelter to the journalists who may get credit link and share some funds if necessary.(NSS)
