Hyderabad: In a wake of rising crime of food adulteration in Hyderabad, Cyberabad Police has busted a major seed racket, first among seeds adulteration, in Shamshabad this Saturday.
Following the raid, the Police seized huge quantities of bogus seeds besides seeds past expiration, bio-products and other materials.
Police nabbed Bionex Crop Science Limited owner Peddireddy Ravichandra Reddy, while two others named Chinthala Manoj Kumar and Chinthala Shruthi are absconding. The Bionex Crop Science Limited is situated in Thondupally village.
Officials have also arrested Mrs Somana Maheshwari, owner of the land rented to Ravichandra Reddy.
The Police also seized huge quantities of sunflower seeds, Akshaya cotton seeds, Surya ladyfinger’s seeds apart from packaging materials and labels of different seed brands.
