Hyderabad man mysteriously disappeared on way to Jeddah, traced in Madina

Hyderabad: Mohammed Salim Uddin Khan (48) hails from Chanchalguda, Hyderabad. On February 19, he had gone missing while driving alone from Riyadh to Jeddah. Mysteriously he was traced in Madina on Tuesday. Saleemuddin has been in Saudi Arabia for more than 20 years. He began 948 km trip from Riyadh to Jeddah alone. He was said to have sent his Google map location to a friend on February 19. The place shown in the map was Al Quwayiyah; a town situated 175 km from Riyadh. A record of CCTV footage showed his presence at a toll gate. That is the only lead that the local police had. His wife and four children, who live in Chanchalguda, have to say that he was not in a position to explain how he got there.

According to Syed Ali Jaffer, a family friend of Salim Khan some of Khan’s relatives who also live in Saudi Arabia, lodged missing complaint with the local police and also informed the Indian Embassy in Riyadh about his mysterious disappearance.

MBT leader Amjadullah Khan who has been on a rescuing spree of trapped NRIs took the case to the notice of Union external affairs minister Sushma Swaraj.

Salim Khan is an engineer. He went to Saudi Arabia in search of a job however during the past four years, he has been on his own executing civil works for a contractor (kafeel), it is learnt. It was for one of these contracts that Khan was said to be traveling to Jeddah from Riyadh when he went missing.

Salim Khan’s family heaved a sigh of relief after he was traced.
