Mild tension in Langar Houz area after Army stopped work on Masjid

Hyderabad: Second Lancer area of Langar Houz is experiencing mild tension after Army officers stopped work on Masjid.

According to the news published in DC, Army officer halted work on extending the roof of a masjid. Roof was being extended as problems are faced by those who come to pray due to summer heat and rains in rainy season.

Taj Mohammed, member of Masjid Managing Committee said that Army officers halted the work and said that there is no permission for the extension. Army also filed complaint at Langar Houz police station, he added.

Meanwhile, Kausar Mohiuddin, Karwan MLA said that the masjid belongs to the Qutub Shahi period and works to historical monuments does not need any permission. He also said that he informed Collector 15 days ago.

Talking on this, Langar Houz police inspector said that the issue is not a big one and had requested masjid authorities to get GHMC’s approval.
