Hyderabad: Two drunken youths died in an attempt to evade police

Hyderabad: In Langar Houz area, traffic police was booking the drivers racing the vehicles with greater speed. At 12:30 p.m. on Saturday, a special campaign was launched to book the cases of “drink and driving”. A lorry loaded with cement bag coming from Langar Houz collided with an Indica car parked there which as a result dashed against the traffic police crane.

Seeing this, two motorcyclists, D. Ramesh (24) and Srinivas (21) were trying to avoid traffic police. They turned their vehicle with a greater speed in the opposite direction and hit the lorry. Both the youths died on the spot.

DCP of Traffic police, Mr. P.V. Ranganath told that the lorry driver, Anantaiya, a native of Kodangal was drunk who lost the balance of the vehicle and hit against Indica car. The driver has been arrested after examining him through breath analyzer. The level of drunkenness was 550. The dead bodies of two youths were shifted to Osmania General Hospital.
