Hyderabad: Two scavengers held for sexual assault on minor girl

The Moghalpura police in old city arrested two youths on Friday for sexually assaulting a mentally unsound minor girl on February 10. The accused identified as Dilloud Ajay Kumar, 20, and Gyanchand Karan, 21, (both scavengers) of Lalith Bagh, Sultan Shahi were produced before the court and remanded to judicial custody.

 

Police said the victim’s father M. Narsingh of Sultan Shahi lodged a complaint on the evening of February 10 stating that his 14-year old daughter was missing.   However, on the same night, the minor girl returned home herself. The next day, the girl came to the police station and informed the police that she had gone to her friend’s house.

 

Again on February 15, the minor girl, along with her parents, came to the Police Station and alleged that she was sexually assaulted by two persons on February 10 afternoon. She told the police that again two persons took her on a bike to Lalitha Bagh area and raped her one by one. On a tip-off, the police nabbed the two accused, who confessed to their crime. The duo was produced in the court on Friday and remanded to judicial custody.

 

The victim girl was sent to Bharosa Center for counseling. Due to mental instability, the victim girl was not able to give exact picture of the case, the police added.
