Hyderabad will be turned into a world-class city: KTR

Hyderabad: Municipal Administration and Urban Development Minister K. Tarakarama Rao said that the Telangana Government would turn Hyderabad into a world-class city by involving citizens.

Addressing a workshop on Good Practices in Urban Development at Administrative Staff College at Khairtabad here on Saturday, KTR said the State Government was keen to make Hyderabad a Smart, Green and Global City by adopting innovative methods. He said that the State Government was study the successful models so as emulate them in Hyderabad. He said that the State Government would ensure better roads, proper sanitation, pollution-free environment and provision of basic minimum facilities. He said an Action Plan has been put in place to achieve the desired goals.

The Minister informed that a team of senior officials would visit Tamil Nadu on 27th February to study some of the successful projects implemented by the State Government.

The workshop was also attended by GHMC Mayor Bonthu Rammohan, Nizamabad Mayor Akula Sujatha, GHMC Deputy Mayor Baba Fasiuddin, MA&UD Principal Secretary M.G. Gopal, GHMC Commissioner Dr. B. Janardhan Reddy, ASCI Chairman Padmanabaiah and other senior officials. (INN)
