Hyderabad: The Hyderabad police on Tuesday arrested senior IAS officer of Telangana State Agriculture Department Dharawat Venkateswara Rao and his son Venkata Sukrut in the murder of their driver Bhukya Nagaraju in an apartment at Jubilee Hills.
DCP West Zone Mr. Venkateshwar Rao in a press conference told that the reason behind the murder was homosexuality. On March 17, both were boozing at the terrace of the apartment. The accused forced himself on the victim. But went Nagaraju objected to it, both had a scuffle. Sukrut forcibly caught hold of Nagaraju’s neck and hit him on his head with a brick.
The incident came to light the next day when the accused was trying to shift the body from the apartment. According to police Sukrut was shifting the body with the help of IAS officer.
After investigations, police arrested father and son duo.
