Ibrahim Yafai murder case – HC issues notices to Akbaruddin Owaisi and others

Hyderabad: Hyderabad High Court has issued notices to MIM MLA, Mr. Akbaruddin Owaisi and others on the petition filed on behalf of the slain Ibrahim bin Younus Yafai.

On 9th June, Awad Yafai had approached High Court to review his petition which was dismissed on 5th April.

It may be mentioned that on 4th September 2012, Awad Yafai had filed a written complaint with the Commissioner of Police, Hyderabad in which he had made a request to register a case against Mr. Akbaruddin Owaisi, MLA, Mr. Ahmed Balala, MLA and three others in connection with hatching a conspiracy for killing his brother. In his petition, he had complained that his brother was killed on 30th April 2011. When this incident took place, Mr. Akbaruddin Owaisi had a gun in his hand.

Chandrayangutta Police registered a case under FIR number 313/2012 but closed it for want of evidence. Against this action of the police, the brother of the slain had filed the petition in the criminal court but it was also dismissed since no hearing took place. After this, he approached the Hyderabad High Court through Mr. Kailash Reddy Advocate, with a request to the High Court to review his petition.

In the early stages of hearing, Hyderabad High Court issued notices to six persons including Mr. Akbaruddin Owaisi, Mr. Ahmed Balala, Jani Miyan and others.

It may be mentioned that on 29th June, 7th Metropolitan Additional Sessions Judge had exonerated 10 accused including Mohammed Pahelwan and had sentenced 10 years imprisonment to Salam Dehlan.

The hearing of this petition is scheduled for 26th July 2017.
