Ileana D’Cruz feels that nervousness brings out the best in her

Actress Ileana D’Cruz says she likes to be uncertain about her performance while playing a character as the nervous energy pushes her to give the best shot.

The 28-year-old actress, who is playing Cynthia Pavri, in her upcoming film Rustom based on the real life incident of Naval Officer KM Nanavati, said the fact that she was not sure about pulling off the role, made her work harder.

“I just looked at it as a really challenging role. I waited for a good role to come for a very long time after Happy Ending and I just wanted to choose a really good one.

I like the uncertainty. I like not knowing if I will able to pull it off and the character of Cynthia Pavri had this.

The nervousness I had while playing the role gave me a different kind of drive to give a better performance. I had a lot of scenes with Akshay and he was very patient with me,” Ileana said during the press conference of Rustom.

The movie, also stars Akshay Kumar and Esha Gupta, has been directed by Tinu Suresh Desai. Ileana said she can do powerful roles only when the director has full faith in her. “I love playing powerful characters. But that can happen only when the director believes in me. I rely a lot on my directors and it’s their belief which makes me give my best,” she said.

Produced by Neeraj Pandey, Rustom will hit the theatres this Friday.
