Illegal ads mar Hyderabad’s beauty: KTR

Illegal banners, hoardings and advertisements under the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation limits will be dealt with seriously and impose heavy penalties as per rules of Public Places’ Disfigurement Act. The illegal ads will be penalized for defacing the beauty of the city as part of Swatch Hyderabad program of keeping clean the premises by removing flexes of ruling party, Opposition and others.

Expressing displeasure at the countless number of such advertisements, including flexes, banners, hoardings and posters or any other material should be removed without any discrimination, Municipal Administration Minister K T Rama Rao has said. Presiding over a review meeting, the minister asked GHMC Commissioner Dr Janardhan Reddy to immediately remove such hoardings, banners and material pertaining to illegal advertisements dotted the roads resulting in accidents. He also directed the GHMC chief to initiate stringent measures against the companies for disfiguring the beauty of the city.  He also mentioned that beautiful wall paintings also disfigured due to these ads.
