KTR also directed the officials to make arrangements and provide facilities in all municipalities for making video conference within a week.  He warned to take action against the officials if they found in dereliction of duty. The minister, who reviewed the situation arising after heavy rains that lashed the capital recently, asked the municipal officials to demolish all illegal structures and also those in dilapidated condition.

Municipal principal secretary M G Gopal, CDMA Dana Kishore and other officials were present on the occasion.

Meanwhile, GHMC Commissioner B Janardhan Reddy visited Miralam tank and some other tanks in south zone and enquired about the measures being taken up. Accompanied by zonal commissioner Srinivas Reddy, deputy commissioner Dasarath and engineers team, the GHMC Commissioner also inspected downstream areas of Miralam tank and gave instructions to demolish illegal structures on nalas leading to Miralam tank. The rain water entered the Nehru ZooPark following overflow of the tank resulting closure of the Zoo Park for the visitors.

Later, the GHMC Commissioner visited Rashid Colony, Alinagar where houses were constructed illegally on a nala. The 40 feet wide nala from Palle Cheruvu to Bandlaguda  now narrowed down to just two feet following  encroachments which resulted in inundation of 50 houses in the area.
