Mahboob Nagar: 1-day hunger strike was staged by Imaan Committee Mahboob Nagar, opposite Govt. Junior College (boys), Mahboob Nagar. Addressing on the occasion founder of the Imaan Committee, Mr. Mohammed Saleem said, dowry demand and un-Islamic customs in marriages have become a nuisance for all the religions. The hunger strike was staged with an objective to invite attention of clerics, scholars and representatives of other voluntary organisations towards the issue. He said due to the dowry demands and extravagant marriages, several Muslim families have become victims of loan sharks and are facing financial crisis.
Syed Taqiuddin Secretary JPITC and Mohammed Nazeer Ali also addressed on the occasion and said, thanks to demands of grooms’ families, Muslim society is on the verge of destruction.
