India assures Bangladesh of help in atomic energy

India on Tuesday assured Bangladesh of all help in various sectors, including atomic energy.

Science and Technology Minister Harsh Vardhan held out the assurance to his Bangladesh counterpart Yeafesh Osman during a meeting here. Osman is presently leading a delegation from his country to India.

The two leaders held detailed discussions on cooperation in the fields of science, technology, oceanography, earth sciences and atomic energy.

“India assured Bangladesh that it would get all the help in various sectors of science and technology, including atomic energy,” the science and technology ministry said in a statement.

Vardhan said that Prime Minister Narendra Modi had instructed to render every help as asked for by Bangladesh.

Osman said: “The prime ministers of both the countries are very keen to put science and technology to use for public benefit and cooperation in this field should further strengthen the bilateral bonds.”
