India reduced Australia to 101 for six at tea on Tuesday as the second Test in Bangalore headed for a thrilling climax with the visitors needing 87 runs to win.

Ravichandran Ashwin grabbed three wickets in the afternoon session of day four and fast bowler Umesh Yadav claimed two to rattle Australia in their run-chase of 188.

Yadav got the prized scalp of skipper Steve Smith for 28, while Peter Handscomb was batting on 19.

Australia were 101 for six in their second innings at tea against India on the fourth day of the second cricket Test here today.

Australia need 87 more runs to win with just four wickets remaining.
