New Delhi, Sept. 25 : Responding to India’s move to raise a wall along the Line of Control (LoC), National Panthers Party ( NPP) chief Bhim Singh on Friday said it is a highly sensitive issue and shows India’s intention to give up.
“This issue is highly sensitive and it involves several questions of international law. If it’s the Line of Control, or its ceasefire line, then I don’t think India or Pakistan has the right to put up a permanent fencing. We do not have a divider or a wall on the international border. It shows India’s intention is to forgo or give up,” Singh told ANI.
Singh said that being a resident of Jammu and Kashmir he doesn’t accept this doctrine, as it shows the failure of the government to protect the border.
“It shows the intention that we are prepared to give up. Therefore, it needs a discussion by intellectuals, thinkers, historians and students of international law, as the matter is not so easy,” he added.
Protesting against India’s move, as reported by Dunya News, Pakistan’s Permanent Representative to United Nations (UN) Maleeha Lodhi on Thursday filed two notices in the United Nations, expressing severe reservations over India considering a proposal to create or raise a wall on the LoC. (ANI)
