India’s RAW involved in destabilising Pakistan, claims Pak army chief

Islamabad : Pakistan’s Army Chief General Raheel Sharif has said that India’s Research and Analysis Wing (RAW) has been actively involved in destabilising Islamabad.

“Hostile intelligence agencies are averse to China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC),” the Dawn quoted General Sharif, as saying at a Peace and Prosperity seminar yesterday here.

Asserting that he would not allow anyone to create impediments and turbulence in any part of Pakistan, General Raheel Sharif urged those involved in such activities to leave the approach of confrontation and focus on cooperation instead.

Referring to the CPEC as a corridor of peace and prosperity, he said that it was the manifestation of the deep-rooted ties between Beijing and Islamabad.

Touching upon the ongoing counter-insurgency operation Zarb-i-Azb, launched to defend the anti-state elements, General Raheel acknowledged how far Pakistan has come in its struggle for stability and development.

“I take pride in mentioning the strong resolve and sacrifices offered by the people, intelligence and law enforcement agencies, and our gallant armed forces.Operation Zarb-i-Azb is not just an operation, but a wholesome concept. It ultimately aims at breaking the syndicate of terrorism, extremism and corruption,” he said.

He also urged to international community not only acknowledge Pakistan’s move, but, also come forward in blocking external help to terrorist organisations and their facilitators and financiers.

Referring to CPEC, the Army Chief said that it is a lifetime opportunity for Pakistan, poised in bringing economic transformation in the Balochistan province.

“It is pertinent to mention that, though Gwadar is central to the broader conception of CPEC, the corridor itself ranges from Western China to the plains and coasts of Pakistan and promises to bring prosperity to the remotest areas of Pakistan from Gilgit-Baltistan to Balochistan,” he added.

Meanwhile, ISPR head Lieutenant General Asim Saleem Bajwa is a series of tweet echoed the same.

“Hostile int agencies averse to this grand project.Specially Indian int Agency,RAW is blatantly involved in destabilising

Pakistan/CPEC-7 ,” he tweeted, adding ” wont allow anyone to create impediments& turbulence in any part of Pakistan.Hence imp for all to leave behind confrontation&focus on coop-8.” (ANI)
