Indo-British scholarships distributed through Siasat Urdu Daily

Hyderabad: Dr. Fasihuddin Ali Khan, a Hyderabadi Physician working in UK has been sponsoring scholarships to the deserving candidates for the past 16 years. These scholarships are being distributed through Siasat Urdu Daily.

Mr. Zahid Ali Khan, Editor of Siasat Urdu Daily congratulated Dr. Fasihuddin Ali Khan for funding the scholarship amounts. He said that through financial assistance, poor students get encouraged for higher studies. He was distributing scholarships to the students yesterday at Mahboob Husain Jigar Hall. Meritorious students of SSC and Intermediate got these scholarships.

Mr. Zahid Ali Khan further told that after the completion of Intermediate course, students plan to become Doctors or Engineers whereas there are ample opportunities in the fields of Law, Management etc. He pointed out that population of the Muslims has been increasing and in the future Muslims would be in large but without education there is no progress. He advised the Muslims to get educated. He pointed out that there are only 1% Jews in the entire world but they enjoy prestigious status in the world due to their higher education.

Referring to the unnecessary expenses on Muslim marriages, he told the Muslim women to avoid extravaganza. He said that the girls are getting higher education but the boys are not. Parents have control over the girls. There is a need to control the boys also. He mentioned that Siasat Urdu Daily sponsored two Muslim girls for getting admission in IIIT by paying their fees to the tune of Rs. 5 lakh each.

Dr. Fasihuddin Ali Khan, founder President of Indo-British Educational Foundation, UK (London) told that he had fixed a target of sponsoring 1000 students which seemed to be impossible but after 16 years 1500 students have been benefited from this scheme. Every student is given a sum of Rs. 2000 to Rs. 2500. He told the students that they should not think that it is a meager amount. He congratulated the parents whose children were awarded scholarship. He narrated the story of Thomas Alva Addison’s mother whose advice made him the greatest scientist. He told the students to concentrate on character building.

Mr. Meer Shujaat Ali, General Manager of Siasat Urdu Daily organized the program. Present on this occasion were Mr. Syed Abul Fatah Husaini, Advocate, Mr. Ahmed Siddiqui Mukesh and others. Mr. M.A. Hameed, Career Counselor of Siasat Urdu Daily conducted the program.
