Minister K T Rama Rao announced a novel initiative in a bid to increase green cover in and around Hyderabad. A record-breaking 25 Lakh saplings would be planted on July 11th in and around Hyderabad. Minister called for a preparatory meeting of all Government Departments and organizations about this initiative today. While state GHMC, HMDA, Forest Department, and HYSEA will play a pivotal role in this initiative, all government agencies, corporate bodies, educational institutes, NGOs and prominent individuals would be roped in for this program. Minister KTR said that since there are about 25 Lakh households in Hyderabad, the program would be a grand success if every family commits to planting one sapling. Minister made a special appeal to IT & industry bodies to take active role in this initiative.
