Interference in Muslim Personal Law will not be tolerated – Mahmood Ali

Hyderabad: Dy. CM of Telangana State, Mr. Mohammed Mahmood Ali told that the motto of his life would be to promote the welfare and development of Muslim community whether he is in power or not. He was addressing a felicitation meeting organized by Jamiatul Mominat, Moghalpura yesterday to honour him for making a successful representation to Home Minister, Mr. Rajnath Singh in New Delhi.

Mufti Mohammed Hasanuddin presided over the function. Mufti Sadiq Mohiuddin, Maulana Hamid Mohammed Khan, President of Jamat-e-Islami, Mr. Mohammed Abdul Waheed, President of Muslim Advocates’ Forum and others attended the function.

Continuing his address, Mr. Mohammed Mahmood Ali told that Muslims can tolerate anything but they cannot tolerate interference in their personal law. He was given the title of “Mahboob-e-Millat”. He was also presented a memento. Mr. Mahmood Ali clarified that he has already made it clear to Mr. Rajnath Singh that any kind of interference in Muslim Personal Law is not acceptable to the Muslims of India. Mr. Singh had given an assurance that Central Govt. has no intension to Amend Muslim Personal Law.

It may be mentioned that BJP in its election manifesto had promised to implement Uniform Civil Code for which the Central Govt. is making an attempt.

Mr. Mahmood Ali advised the Muslims that instead of approaching law courts, Muslims should approach Shariat Courts.
