ISLAMABAD: The officials said on Tuesday, that the federal government has ordered, the internet providing pornography websites to block their websites. More than 400,000 websites are been blocked, as part of a crackdown on what the apex court calls “offensive content” and it is considered as blasphemous or objectionable.

A senior government official said.“ISPs (Internet Service Providers) have been directed to block more than 400,000 websites having pornographic content.”

Industry officials said it could take some time to complete the blocking of such sites as they have ready initiated.

Facebook and YouTube, was also  banned because of the videos made on the prophet “Hazrat Muhammad S.A.W”. Those videos caused a huge uproar in nationwide and they demanded “Youtube” to remove that content, but they were unable to remove, and because of the uproar  it is forced to block “Youtube”.

Last week, the ban was lifted on the You Tube by the government. The localised version of the video-sharing site will be regulated by authorities. They will ask Google to remove material which seems to be  inappropriate.
