Inzamam rules out Pakistan chances of faring well in World T20

Former Pakistan Test captain Inzamam-ul-Haq has admitted that his country’s current squad lacks quality batsmen and ruled out any chances of the Shahid Afridi-led side faring well in the ongoing World Twenty20 in India.

Inzamam said that Pakistan won’t be able to do very well in the T20 format’s pinnacle event if they field the same squad that they had played in the recently-concluded Asia Cup, the Express Tribune reported.

The 46-year-old also observed that Pakistan will struggle to bring in a potent replacement in case of an injury.

Meanwhile, chief selector Haroon Rashid had earlier backed the T20 squad to do well in India despite Pakistan’s poor showing in the Asia Cup.

The 2009 champions Pakistan will open their campaign against a qualifier in Kolkata on March 16 before their much-anticipated clash against fierce rivals India three days later in Dharamsala. (ANI)
