Israeli regime ‘Apartheid’ for Palestine: UN report declared

Beirut: The report published on Wednesday by UN, accused Israel of imposing an “apartheid regime” of racial discrimination on the Palestinians.

According to this report, “Israel has established an apartheid regime that dominates the Palestinian people as a whole”.

Speaking on the occasion of the launching of the report, Rima Khalaf, U.N. Under-Secretary General and ESCWA Executive Secretary told that for the first time a report from UN body clearly brands Israel as apartheid regime.

This report is said to have been finalized on the basis of inquiry and evidences that Israel has committed many crimes of apartheid.

The report also claims that the division of Palestinians was the major strategy through which Israel imposes apartheid.

Khalaf said that this report would highlight the root causes of the problem in the United Nations.

It may be mentioned that this report was compiled by Richard Falk, a former U.N. Human Rights Investigator for the Palestinian Territories and Virginia Tilley, Professor of Political Science at Southern Illinois University.
