Jagadish, Tummala lash out at oppn leaders

Minister for Power G Jagadish Reddy today laid foundation stone for construction of an electric sub-station at Kallur in Khammam district along with Roads & Buildings Minister Tummala Nageshwar Rao.

Speaking to mediapersons later, Jagadish Reddy alleged that some “criminal elements” in the garb of political leaders were roaming in the villages and blaming the State government for everything. He also took serious exception to TTDP working president Revanth Reddy for his provocative remarks against the ministers and seeking resignation of Harish Rao and Tummala Nageshwar Rao. He said as the Opposition leaders have no other work, were systematically resorting to mudslinging at the government. But the wise people in the State are aware that these anti-development leaders were trying to stall the projects and development works in the State, Jagadish Reddy said. He also expressed his displeasure at the way the Opposition leaders were making a hue and cry against the welfare programs in the State. “Some leaders like Revanth Reddy are creating obstacles to the projects and working as agents to the neighbouring States. The Opposition should come up with constructive criticism and suggestions instead of making baseless charges”, he suggested.

Tummala Nageshwar Rao also slammed the Opposition for their rhetoric against the government, which was feverishly completing the projects in order to irrigate one crore acres of land over five years. “Kalvakuntla Chandrasekhar Rao proved as a Chief Minister with guts for getting the Land Acquisition Amendment Act approved by the Centre within a week. He said President Pranab Mukherjee has given his assent for the Land Act of 2016 of Telangana State after the Union Home Ministry and Law Ministry giving nod.

The R&B Minister said now the Chief Minister was planning to give 24-hour power supply to agriculture sector. “Some political leaders, who turned into looters and middlemen and cannot even stand before the determined Chief Minister, were levelling baseless allegations”, he fumed. The Minister asserted that the TRS Government is of the people and giving top priority for welfare. (NSS)
