YSR Congress Party chief and Leader of the Opposition in Andhra Pradesh Assembly Y S Jaganmohan Reddy here on Saturday, accompanied by his party legislators, called on Governor ESL Narasimhan and complained against “anti-democratic” and corrupt activities of Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu.

Speaking to mediapersons later, Jaganmohan Reddy charged TDP chief and Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu with luring and buying his YSRCP MLAs like cattle in the market. He accused the Chief Minister of murdering the democracy in broad daylight by wooing his legislators by paying Rs 20 to 30 crore to each. Alleging that the TDP chief was buying his MLAs with tainted money, Jagan accused the Chief Minister of benefiting the civil contractors in crores of rupees with the GO No 22.

The Leader of the Opposition also accused the Chief Minister of hiking the estimated costs of the projects with an intention to share the tainted money. Even the ministers, MLAs were sharing money with the sand mafia, he alleged. Stating that he had apprised the Governor of rampant corruption from the purchase of lands for the capital region and sand reaches and buying his (YSRCP) MLAs with the tainted money, Jagam dared the Chief Minister to make the defected MLAs to resign immediately.

Reacting to the exodus of his party MLAs, Jagan said there was no loss to his party just because a dozen MLAs have shifted their loyalties. He also said he would not bother even if three or four YSRCP MLAs leave his party for monetary gain. (NSS)
