JAGAN LAMBLASTS NAIDU ON KAPU RESERVATION ISSUE

YSRCP President and Leader of Opposition in Andhra Pradesh State Assembly, Y. S. Jagan Mohan Reddy, on Monday lambasted Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu in holding opposition parties responsible for the violence in Tuni of East Godavari district yesterday on the occasion of Kapu Garjana organized there.

Addressing the media here in the presence of YSRCP leaders Botsa Satyanartayana and Umareddy Venkateshwarulu, Jagan referring to the claims made by Chandrababu Naidu on Sunday with regard to Kapu reservations observed that it was a classic example of self praise and criticism of others. “ He was more self-boasting than spelling out specifically as to what he would do with regard to the demand of the Kapus for inclusion in the BC list”, Jagan pointed out.

Charging that Chandrababu Naidu in order to camouflage his own omissions and commissions uttered only lies and tried to blame others, Jagan was aghast that the YSRCP and Congress parties were accused of engineering and foment the violence in Tuni. He wondered why Naidu remained silent about the presence of even BJP leader Kanna Laxminarayana who was present at the Kapu Garjana, while pointing an accusing fingers at others. As a matter of fact it was Naidu who had engineered to ensure that the meeting of the Kapus would be a flop and had even tried to prevent people from attending the Garjana besides warning his own Kapu leaders from attending, he observed and charged that Naidu was responsible for the unrest with a motive to blame other paerties.

The YSRCP leader blamed Naidu for driving a wedge between Kapus and BCs as he had done in the past with the SCs. As a matter of fact Kapus were classified ads BCs till 1956, he said and reminded that Tamilnadu has 69 percent reservations and Naidu too can implement similarly by brining pressure on the Central Government to amend the constitution.

Observing that the commission appointed by Naidu was only an eye wash as it had no direction or guidance, Jagan said that if the AP Chief Minister was sincere about protecting the interests of Kapus should try to pressurize the Centre by even withdrawing his ministers from the union cabinet,. The people were getting frustrated and angry with Naidu as he had failed to fulfill all the assurances and promises made to them. He is only speaking lies and making false claims and duping the people. “ Chandrababu Naidu should be deemed as a criminal number one”, Jagan charged.

The YSRCP Chief also pointed out that a Kapu leader and former Minister Harirama Jogaiah had held TDP responsible for the murder of Vangaveeti Ranga. It was also revealed by Jogaiah in his book that one of the accused in the Rangana murder case, was Uma Maheshwar Rao, now a minister and Kodela Sivaprasad, now Speaker of AP Assembly, Jagan observed and added that all these only points out that Naidu is criminal minded.

Justifying the agitation of the Kapus for inclusion in the BC list, the YSRCP President however appealed to all to maintain restraint and peace lest the Chief Minister would take advantage only to put the entire blame on Kapus. (NSS).
