Jagan to stage dharna in Guntur on April 26, 27

To highlight the issue of fall in the prices of agriculture produces, YSRCP chief and Leader of Opposition in Andhra Pradesh Y S Jaganmohan Reddy decided to stage a protest deeksha at Guntur on April 26 and 27.

Jagan has decided to take cudgels on behalf of the farmers after it came to light that the buyers at the market yards have formed a cartel and underquoted the prices. To top it, the AP Government, which should come to the rescue of the hapless farmers was remained a silent spectator.

Price fall due to cartelisation has been noticed in the Duggirala turmeric market and Guntur chilli yard. Low prices have forced chilli farmers to end their lives. Jagan has recently visited Guntur chilli yard and ascertained the problems being faced by the farmers. He decided to stage a deeksha as the Government was not responding to the woes of the farmers. As of now, the venue in Guntur city is yet to be decided. The venue would be announced after obtaining permission from the authorities concerned. (NSS)
