Jat reservation stir: Main accused a RSS activist, alleges Congress leader

Gurgaon: Haryana Congress leader Kuldeep Sharma today alleged the main accused in burning of finance minister Captain Abhimanyu’s house during violent Jat stir in the state is a “RSS activist”. In last February, Jats had launched a stir demanding reservation in BC category. The agitation, which had taken a violent turn, left 30 people dead and 320 persons injured and resulted in huge damage to property.

Several districts including Rohtak, the epicenter of Jat agitation, Jhajjar, Kaithal, Jind, Sonipat and Bhiwani had witnessed violence. Sharma, the former Speaker, claimed that the main accused “Sudeep Kalkal is a RSS activist and have links with many Harayana BJP leaders.” Sharma sought a response from Haryana chief minister Manohar Lal Khattar on the allegation within 24 hours, otherwise he will reveal the rest of the facts.

The Congress leader demanded the investigation of riots to be done by the sitting judge of Supreme Court. Sharma has also presented photographs in which Kalkal was “posing with BJP leaders, including Haryana CM.” Besides that, Haryana finance minister Captan Abhimanyu, BCCI secretary Anurag Thakur, Haryana agriculture minister Om Prakash Dhankhar and Badra MLA Sukhvindra Shouran, former OSD to CM and Haryana housing board chairman Jawahar Yadav, Union minister Chaudhary Birendar Singh and Uchana MLA Prem Lata were in the photographs.

“Khattar has claimed earlier that Kalkal is an active member of Congress and the main conspirator of Rohtak riot. If Kalkal is a Congress member than how he was in the photographs along with top BJP leaders,” Sharma asked.
