Jharkhand maid rescued from Vasant Kunj flat in Delhi

Jharkhand: Two sisters from Jharkhand probably a minor, was rescued from a cupboard of a Gurgaon-based businessman, couple in Vasant Kunj on Sunday.

The couple employed them for domestic help and tortured them ,they often
thrashed, abused verbally. The employers said she was hired around June from a placement agency and not given any salary since then.

They fear of there fleeing because of ill- treatment and kept the maid locked in the house. Somehow the girls managed to get the number of NGO and pleaded them to save them. When the NGO team reached the house the women named as Sarika started fighting saying ”you came on the call of a servant and hence should behave like a servant”.

Rishi Kant, from the NGO, said,it was shocking, her violent behaviour with the rescuing squad has been recorded on our
camera.

The 20 year old elder sister first came to Delhi in search of work and got placed at this house by an agent.The lady of the house then asked her to get another help from her family and she called up her
younger sister (18).

Rishi Kant said. “The girls have told us
that the torture began soon after. They would be given little food, scolded and thrashed often, made to work 24×7 and
barred from leaving the house.” He added
“The girls are very scared right now. They have come out of hell. Both are lodged in Bapnu Ghar shelter for women and
their medical examination is over.”

The entire rescue operation has been recorded on video. DCW chief,Swati Maliwal, will visit them on Monday and herself take their statement.
