JNU incident: CPI men held near Raj Bhavan

Hyderabad: The State Communist Party of India today demanded that the Centre order unconditional release of Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU) students’ leader Kanhaiah Kumar.
Party workers led by State CPI secretary Chada Venkata Reddy went in a procession towards Raj Bhavan seeking the Governor’s intervention in the issue. However, the police stopped the rally and arrested the protesters at Khairatabad circle. Addressing the protestors, Venkata Reddy dubbed the BJP as the “real” betrayer of the nation as it was disturbing peace and harmony in the Universities. (NSS)
