Jobs to locals in KTPS – KTR tears Oppn for protests

Industries and IT Minister KT Rama Rao today stated that priority will be given to locals to get jobs in Kothagudem Thermal Power Station (KTPS). He also said efforts will be made to establish a mining university in Khammam district which is abundant with mineral reserves.

Participating in development programs and inspecting 7th phase of works of KTPS at Palvancha in Khammam district along with Roads & Buildings Minister Tummala Nageshwar Rao, MP Ponguleti Srinivas Reddy and others, KTR said efforts will be made to set up an Airport and skill development center in the town. He ridiculed the Opposition parties for taking up padayatras, Palle Nidra and protest programs against the State government.

The Minister fumed at the Opposition parties like Congress, Telugu Desam and CPM for resorting to mud-slinging at the government for political gain, he charged. They must stop witch-hunting the government, which was giving top priority to welfare programs and spending Rs 4,500 crore, he said. “Like no other State in the country, our Chief Minister K Chandra sekhar Rao was extending all support to the SC, ST, BC and Minorities to benefit them from the welfare schemes and completing pending projects”,  he remarked.

Tummala Nageshwar Rao expressed displeasure at the Opposition antics and getting envious on development works and crying foul to stall them. Kothagudem will become No. 1 district if it makes use of available natural resources, he asserted. The State government will make use of available resources and give safe drinking water to every house hold in Kothagudem district by spending Rs 4,500 crore. Steps have already been taken to irrigate crops in the district through completion of Sitharama lift scheme, he added. (NSS)
