Junaid Zakir elected president of MANUU Teacher’s Association

Hyderabad:- Dr. Junaid Zakir, Assistant Professor Department of Translation, has been elected as President of Maulana Azad National Urdu University Teachers Association (MANUUTA). This is the third time Dr. Zakir has won as President. Earlier, he was elected as President during the year 2011-12 and 2012-13.

According to Prof. S. Najmul Hasan, Chairperson, Election Committee, Dr. Zakir is the 9th president of the MANUU’s Teachers Association. Dr. Malik Raihan Ahmed, Mr. M. Shaheer Zaman, Mr. Sadat Shareef, Dr. Bonthu Kotaiah were declared elected for the posts of Vice President, General Secretary, Joint Secretary (Organizing) and Joint Secretary (Publicity) respectively. Recounting of votes for the post of treasurer is underway. Besides the headquarters, polling was also held at other campuses of University.

Vice-Chancellor Dr. Mohammad Aslam Parvaiz and Registrar Dr. Mohammad Shakeel Ahmad congratulated the newly elected office bearers. Dr Aleem Basha, Dr Sameena Basu, and Mr. Shams Imran were the members of election committee whereas Dr Subhash Alha and Mr. M. Pasha Quadri were co-opted members.
