Kadiam, Etala launch ‘Deepam’–Call women to route out illicit liquor

Deputy Chief Minister K Srihari today exhorted the women to play a role in routing out illicit and spurious liquor, which are reining their families.

Launching Deepam Scheme of gas cylinders to the eligible people at Hanmakonda in Warangal district along with Minister for finance and civil supplies, E Rajender, Srihari said that  women should come forward to smash out illicit liquor and save their spouses. ‘Unless you come together the menace will not go and make Warangal district minus illicit liquor’ he said adding that  women played a  key role in achieving statehood. The government released Rs 150 crore towards implementation of the scheme and 20 lakhs of new cylinders will be supplied to the beneficiaries. All the women of the self-help groups will get a cylinder,  he said.

He flayed the opposition for criticizing the TRS Government which successfully overcome  the power problem in one year. Those who opposed statehood are now preventing Telangana development, he charged.

Rajender said that the government is trying to find a permanent solution to end the suicides by farmers. Despite our efforts the problem is persisting and we are focusing on  preventing  the unfortunate incidents, he bemoaned. The opposition is annoyed at the welfare and development in the state, he charged. Every welfare scheme will be reached to the eligible poor and deprived classes in the state, he said. Rajender warned of stringent measures against those who involved in black marketing or illegal hoarding of ration rice and other essentials.(NSS)
