Minister G Jagadish Reddy today informed the House that the famous Kalyan Lakshmi – the flagship program of the TRS government — will be implemented properly.
He was reacting to queries posed by Opposition members, who sought some clarifications that the scheme was being misused while the eligible are denied the benefit. Jagadish Reddy stated that Rs 51,000 cash will be given to the beneficiary family on the day of marriage towards Kalayna Lakshmi and Shadi Mubarak. There shall not be any doubts in this regard as the government has strictly directed the officials concerned to ensure disbursement of the funds to the beneficiary on time. Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao had introduced the key scheme by moving at the pathetic conditions of the poor families, who cannot afford for the marriage of their girl children.
There was no demand for the marriage scheme form political parties or any quarters and the TRS Government has launched it to help the poor Jagadish Reddy stated. He further stated that there is no paucity of funds for implementing the scheme which has no cap on the number of beneficiaries. Stating that the steps are taken to clear the pending bills he maintained that the government has directed that every eligible family get the benefit. Reacting on the complaints of funds misuse the minister said that 56 cases have been filed in this regard. (NSS)
