Kamlesh Tiwari likely to contest Uttar Pradesh election

Meerut: Kamlesh Tiwari, leader of Hindu Mahasabha who had made objectionable remarks earlier on Prophet Mohammed (PBUH) which erupted huge protest throughout the country by the Muslims is likely to contest Assembly by-election from Deoband or Muzaffarnagar Sadar.

There will be by-election to three Assembly constituencies, Muzaffarnagar Sadar, Deoband and Bikapur which have fallen vacant due to the demise of SP MLAs. Polling is likely to be held on 13th February.

Tiwari who was in Lucknow jail since 2nd December has been granted bail last week by a Lucknow court. He will be in jail until the decision of Allahabad High Court is pronounced on his petition against the imposing NSA on him by the State Government.

Representations are being made to UP Governor, Ram Naik requesting his intervention to release  Tiwari as allegations against are said to be politically motivated.
