Hyderabad: Kangana Ranaut hit by sword, receive 15 stitches on forehead

New Delhi: Kangana Ranaut who is much acclaimed for her performance in Gangster, Queen etc got injured while performing a sword fight scene for her upcoming movie besides her co star Nihar Pandya.

She was rushed to hospital went the fight scene between the two went horribly wrong, cutting Kangana right on her forehead and eyebrows which resulted in 15 stiches.

The scene required her co-star Nihar Pandya to attack her with the sword with Kangana ducking the attack but the timing went wrong and the actress got hit with the sword.

The incident happened while the actors are in Hyderabad shooting for their movie. Kangana was rushed to Apollo hospital and admitted in ICU. The attack resulted in 15 stitches and she is expected to be discharged next week.

One of unit members said, “Kangana was immediately rushed to Apollo hospital nearby, where she was admitted into the ICCU. She got 15 stitches on her forehead and will be under observation in the hospital for a few days. The examining doctor said that it was a close shave for her because the cut was too close to her bone.”

Producer Kamal Jain was also quoted as saying, “Kangana had to duck when Nihar attacked her, but the timing went wrong and Nihar’s sword hit her forehead instead. It made a deep cut between her eyebrows. The drive to the hospital took a good 30 minutes, but she put up a brave front despite the pain and bleeding. Nihar was apologetic and felt terrible, but Kangana pacified him,” according to the sources.

The much-acclaimed star chose to perform the fight sequence instead of a body double. Other sources related to the movie said she will be now be flaunting her scar in the movie.

“Rani of Jhansi was a warrior. So Kangana has decided that she will wear her scar with pride just like the Queen of Jhansi did,” the source said.

The actors were in Ramoji Film City shooting in Hyderabad along with Hollywood action director Nick Powell. Kangana is reported to have taken sword fighting lessons before beginning the action sequence.

The actor has earlier said she is looking forward to directing movies now and that she will also act in her own directorial but not for other directors. According to the Sources, this would be her last movie as an actor. The movie is directed by Krish.
