Kanhaiya vows to continue fight for social justice in varsities

Hyderabad: Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU) student leader Kanhaiya Kumar has said he landed in Hyderabad for meeting HCU student Rohith Vemula’s mother and brother on the campus.
Speaking to mediapersons at Shamshabad Airport on Wednesday, Kanhaiya Kumar said he has been struggling for social justice in all the Universities in the country. He also alleged that the police prevented him from entering into the HCU campus.
CPI leaders Dr K. Narayana, Chada Venkata Reddy and student leaders welcomed Kanhaiya Kumar at party office Maqdoom Bhavan.
Meanwhile it is learnt that Rohith’s mother would go fast on the HCU campus in protest against HCU Vice Chancellor Appa Rao returning to office on Tuesday.
Meanwhile, the HCU administration declared closure of the university for the week and banned all meetings on the campus. Heavy police force has been deployed on the campus. All gates are being guarded heavily and no outsider, including media representatives are allowed inside. Police have taken 27 students into custody. (NSS)
