Karnataka government employees to boycott work

Bangalore: Around 6.4 lakh Karnataka government employees will boycott work on Thursday as a protest against not meeting their salary demands. This protest is for demanding revision in pay and to be on par with the central government scale as per the Seventh Pay Commission recommendations.

However, people had to face a lot of inconvenience due to the protest. A protest was held in front of the Mangaluru City Corporation. A protestor said that the demand for increasing the wages of semi-government employees had been ignored since the past 3 decades. It was said that though Chief Minister Siddaramaiah had promised to implement equal wages, nothing had been done so far.
