If Kashmir resolves, Pak army will lose its relevance: Ex-Army chief Bikram Singh

New Delhi [India]: Former Indian Army chief Bikram Singh on Sunday said the Pakistani Army will lose its relevance the day Kashmir issue is resolved.
“Kashmir is very important to Pakistan and the Pakistani Army. If the Pakistan Army has acquired a stature in Pakistan, then it hinges basically on Kashmir. The day Kashmir issue is resolved, Pakistani army will lose its relevance. They will keep the Kashmir burning,” he said.

“Strategy vis a vis with India is not going to change and their engagement with China is going to continue,” he added.

Earlier, Gen (retd) Singh described pakistan’s new Army Chief Lt Gen Bajwa as a “thorough professional” who gave an “outstanding performance” under him in Congo, but said things changes once an officer goes back to his home country, and urged India to be “careful” and watchful with regard to his approach.(ANI)
