Kashmir : Sister and mother carry the dead body of Yawar Mushtaq to the graveyard


Srinagar : Few days ahead of Eid ul Azha, in Kashmir where life continues to remain paralyzed due to curfew, strike , restriction and police firing since last 66 days, Kashmiri Muslims are still carrying the dead bodies of their relatives.

Now the situation has worsen in such a way that the female members are being forced to carry the dead bodies of their near and dear to the graveyard.

Two youths were killed by pellet guns of Indian security forces on Saturday. Since July 8 uprising 80 people had been killed so far across Kashmir.

In Shopian a youth died after police and paramilitary forces raided Tukroo village, where people were planning a “freedom” rally. Sayar Ahmad Sheikh, a 26-year-old resident of Ganapora village of Shopian, was hit by a tear smoke shell on the head and was declared brought dead at the hospital.

Barely an hour after the incident in Shopian, Yawar Mushtaq, 25 was killed at Botengoo village in south Kashmir’s Anantnag district. Eyewitnesses said police and paramilitary forces were removing barricades set up by people on the roads at the time. They also claimed that the youth was hit by pellets in his abdomen and chest, was sitting some distance away from the spot , reported Indian Express.

The worst was still in the stock for the family of Mushtaq . When the villagers were preparing for his funeral , suddenly police and paramilitary forces raided the village and started firing tear smoke shells and pellets at villagers. The villagers run away from the spot and the CRPF didn’t allow other members from the village to join the funeral procession .Finally the family members of Mushtaq including his mother and sister had to carry his dead body to the graveyard .
