Kavita hits out at opposition

Nizamabad MP and Telangana Jagruthi president K Kavitha informed that Bathukamma festival celebrations would be conducted from September 30 in nine countries.

Speaking at a programme to launch Jagruthi App here at Telangana Bhavan on Wednesday, Kavitha called upon women to celebrate Bathukamma festival on a grand scale. She appealed Telangana women to participate in the floral festival to promote Telangana culture globally.

Stating that the State received record rainfall this year, Kavitha criticized the Opposition parties for politicizing situation arising due to incessant rains. She took potshots at Congress saying that its leaders spare no opportunity to politicizing every issue. They did not even spare rains too, she said.

Kavita went on to attack the Congress saying that the previous governments did nothing when similar situations arose in the last one decade several times. The farmers were left to fend for themselves, the TRS leader said.

She came down heavily on Union Minister M. Venkaiah Naidu saying that Naidu did an aerial survey on rain hit districts of Andhra Pradesh, but did not bother about rain hit Telangana. Till recently, Venkaiah Naidu spoke on Liberation Day fete, but now when the state has witnessed heavy rains he is nowhere to be seen, Kavita quipped. (INN)
