Hyderabad: Congress MLC, Mr. Mohammed Farooq Husain proposed that Govt. should give 12 awards in different categories in the names of noted Muslim personalities such as the founder of Siasat Urdu Daily, Mr. Abid Ali Khan, Syed Rahmat Ali, Meer Ahmed Ali Khan, Banu Tahera Sayeed, Justice Sardar Ali Khan, Syed Lateefuddin Quadri, Makhdoom Mohiuddin, Bahadur Yar Jung, Hazrath Anwarullah Farooqui and Sultan Salahuddin Owaisi. He had told that these persons have performed good deeds in the past. It would be a better tribute to these personalities. It would also mean that the Govt. encourages persons performing various welfare activities for the community.
Mr. KCR had assured Mr. Farooq Husain that he would consider this proposal sympathetically. Special Secretary of CM, Mr. Bhopal Reddy wrote a letter to Secretary, Minorities Welfare to consider this proposal seriously and also to inform Mr. Farooq Husain.
