KCR asks officials to draft Warangal development plan

Hyderabad: Telangana Chief Minister K. Chandrashekar Rao has directed the officials to prepare a comprehensive plan for the development of Warangal town.

Addressing a review meeting with elected representatives and senior officials of Warangal district on Thursday, the Chief Minister said a draft plan should be prepared on immediate basis to utilise Rs. 300 crore allocated in the State Budget for 2016-17 to provide basic amenities to the citizens of Warangal town. He said special attention should be paid on resolving traffic problems through expansion of roads. He also advised them to take up beautification of the Warangal town. He said priority should also be given to construction of vegetable markets, community halls, parks and public toilets. He also asked them to begin works on construction of a theme park on 100 acres of land.

The Chief Minister said new towers should be constructed in Warangal Collectorate to accommodate offices of different departments. He informed that country’s biggest Textile Park would soon come up in Warangal. He also reviewed the repairs works pertaining to SRSP Canal.

The meeting was attended by Deputy Chief Minister Kadiyam Srihari, MLAs T. Rajaiah, A. Ramesh and E. Rajeshwar Reddy, District Collector Karuna, Joint Collector Prashant J. Patil, Greater Warangal Mayor N. Narender, Municipal Commissioner Sarfaraz Ahmed and other officials. (INN)
