KCR doubles MLAs’ Constituency Development Funds

Hyderabad: Chief Minister K. Chandrashekar Rao has doubled the legislators’ constituency development funds from Rs. 1.5 crore to Rs. 3 crore per annum.

Responding to the request made by Leader of Opposition K. Jana Reddy in Telangana Legislative Assembly on Monday for increasing the development funds for MLAs to Rs. 5 crore, the Chief Minister agreed to increase the funds to Rs. 3 crore. He said that these funds about Rs. 480 crore would be provided through Special Development Fund created during budget 2016-17. He said that the MLAs would be free to spend these funds on developmental activities in their respective constituencies.

Further, the Chief Minister assured that MLAs would be given protocol and they would be invited for all government functions in their respective constituencies. He said that the government would protect the rights of all MLAs. (INN)
