KCR fiddles in Delhi while rain ravages Hyderabad

Hyderabad: “Nero fiddled while the Rome was burning”. Presently Hyderabad seems to be undergoing the same situation. Even as Hyderabad and Rangareddy districts are inundated due to heavy and incessant downpour during the past one week, lakhs of people are facing hardship due to rain fury, the ruler of the state instead of personally monitoring the situation, is resting in New Delhi. Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao who had gone to Delhi to attend apex council meeting called by Union Water Resource Minister Uma Bharti, is still in New Delhi even after two days of the meeting.

KCR had promised to develop Hyderabad on the lines of Singapore, Istanbul and Dallas but all those promises have been proved hollow. On the contrary today Hyderabad has become a backward area with choked drains and bad roads.

Chief Minister has handed over all the arrangement and administration to Municipal Administration Minister K.T. Rama Rao who is busy in review meetings with officials of various departments. Officials themselves are surprised over CM’s presence in New Delhi. They feel that had CM should have been in the city at the time of tragedy. Surprisingly despite devastating rains CM has not decided to return to Hyderabad. Due to absence of CM, officials lacked accountability, hence no relief has been provided to the affected areas. Chief Minister should return to Hyderabad immediately after learning about huge damages caused due to heavy rains as many affected areas need immediate help.
