KCR fulfils vow by presenting golden crown to Goddess Bhadrakali

Warangal: Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao today presented a Rs 3.7 crore worth golden crown weighing 11.7 kg to Goddess Bhadrakali at Warangal on Sunday.
With this, the Telangana Chief Minister has kept his promise made during the statehood movement and presented the golden crown to the presiding deity on the auspicious occasion of Durgashatami festival. He was accompanied by his wife Shobha, Deputy Chief Minister Kadiam Srihari, Endowment Minister A Indrakaran Reddy, Speaker S Madhusudhan Chary, MP Vinod, MLA Vinay Bhaskar, party leaders and officials.
Earlier, the temple priests and EO gave the Chief Minister entourage a warm welcome with purnakumbham. KCR and his ministerial team offered special pujas to the presiding deity. On the occasion, the Chief Minister made a brief stay at party’s Rajya Sabha MP Captain Lakshmikantha Rao’s residence.
Speaking to mediapersons later, the Chief Minister said his government would allot Rs 1,000 crore for development of Warangal. He said the State government has already given Rs 300 crore for the city development, he said. Exhorting the people to mark Bathukamma and Dasara festivals, the Chief Minister said efforts were being made to transform the State into a golden Telangana.
The Chief Minister vowed to develop the Warangal city with a Textile Park for which 1200 acres of land was pooled and another 800 acres are yet to be pooled, he said. Central funds will come to Warangal towards Heritage city. A master plan was taking shape for overall development of Warangal district, he added. (NSS)
