KCR govt trying to hike Property Tax, water & power charges: T TDP leader

Hyderabad: Telangana TDP Farmers Cell president Vanteru Pratap Reddy today alleged that the TRS government was trying to increase Property Tax, water and electricity charges in the name of transforming Hyderabad into a world city.
Speaking to the media at NTR trust bhavan here, Pratap Reddy said prior to GHMC elections the TRS leaders had made assurances, including double bedroom houses to city people and had declared there would be no property tax and the poor people can pay only Rs 100 per annum as property tax. But now, the government was trying to put burden of Rs 1500 crore on the people, he alleged. He also recalled TRS leaders’ statements that Maoist agenda was TRS government agenda. But after coming to power, Maoists are being killed by police.
The TDP leader also said TRS government has borrowed Rs 70,000 crore during the last 20 months. He appealed to the people to teach a lesson to TRS in Warangal, Khammam and Achampet municipal elections. (NSS)
