KCR “immersed” in cheap liquor than helping drought-hit farmers: Mallu Ravi

TPCC official spokesperson Mallu Ravi has alleged that Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao was burning midnight oil how to flood the State with cheap liquor while the distressed farmers was cursing their fate due to severe drought situation prevailing in the State.

In a pressnote here on Saturday, Mallu Ravi alleged that over 1,100 farmers committed suicide in the State due to severe drought spell after Chandrasekhar Rao took over as Chief Minister. He also stated the current season was more hopeless that the previous season as 90 percent of standing crops withered.

According to reports, every day four to five farmers were committing suicides in Telangana State due to the truant rainfall, he said and asked the State government to respond immediately and extend assistance to the distressed farmers. (NSS)
