KCR lashes out at opposition over districts reorganisation

Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao on Sunday lashed out at the opposition parties accusing them of creating a fuss over the reorganisation of districts by the TRS Government.

Speaking to media persons, Chandrasekhar Rao said reiterated his stand that the TRS government took up the reorganization of districts only with the aim of providing better administration in the state. The Chief Minister brushed aside the allegations that the process was undertaken eyeing political gains by the ruling party.

The Chief Minister was here to visit Bhadrakali Temple to fulfill his vow of offering gold crown weighing over 11 kgs and worth Rs. 3.7 crore to the presiding deity if he realised the Telangana Statehood dream. He said that the reorganization of districts will help the administration to concentrate on providing better administration. By limiting every district with 2-4 lakh families, the state government is trying to focus on better provision of services. Top officials will have awareness of the demographic structure of the district, he added.

KCR came down heavily on the opposition alleging that they were politicizing every decision of the government taken for the welfare of the district. He said that the earlier government had completely ignored the welfare of Telangana and advised the Opposition to not create hurdles now when the TRS government is focusing on providing better administration. Citing the example of the revenue garnered through sale of sand, the Chief Minister said that during the last five years of Congress rule, the state received only Rs 27 crore, however during the TRS rule the state got Rs 365 crore within a year through sand sale.

The Chief Minister took potshots at the TPCC chief Uttam Kumar Reddy saying that the Congress leader was time and again accusing the state government of adopting unscientific method in reorganizing districts. He said that the TRS government formed a committee led by the Chief Secretary over a year ago study the reogranisation of districts. The State government has taken a very scientific approach in the process and the process has the reflection of people’s aspirations, he said.

The Chief Minister said that at a time when the farmers in the state are happy over the good rains in the state, the Congress party was spreading the propaganda that the farmers in the state were facing hardships. (INN)
